OTTAWA, IL — One person died in an apartment fire in Ottawa early Wednesday morning.

Upon arrival, firefighters found fire coming from the door and window of the lower unit. Crews entered the building to find heavy fire in the kitchen, which had spread to a bedroom and living room.

A search was conducted and a man was found unresponsive in the living room.
