CHICAGO (CBS) – At least one person was killed and five others were injured in shootings across the city as of Saturday.
During the first shooting over the weekend, a 37-year-old man was shot while sitting in his car Friday night in the Albany Park area.
Police said around 7:45 p.m. the victim was sitting in a 2009 white Chrysler issue in the 4400 quarter in North Hamlin when a dark-colored car drove up and a passenger from the car fired, hitting the victim.
The victim fled when he hit several parked cars, causing his car to overturn. The victim was taken to the Masonic hospital IL, and later pronounced dead.
Two people were found shot dead in the Park Syadziba district.
The officer responded to a man shot in the 700th East 73rd Quarter, around 11:12 p.m., where they found two people on the ground with gunshot wounds.
The 28-year-old woman received several shots to the body and was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital in critical condition. The 54-year-old man received a gunshot wound to the right calf and was also taken to the University of Chicago in good condition.
Officers were unable to obtain any information about the incident due to the fact that the victims did not cooperate with the incident.
A 55-year-old man was shot dead Saturday morning on 4300 blocks of West Madison.
At about 8:23 an unknown man approached the victim. After a short conversation, the criminal shot at the victim, hitting his right thigh.
The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition.
A woman was shot dead during a quarrel in West Lawn on Saturday morning.
At about 8:01 a.m., a 22-year-old victim had an oral argument with an unknown person in a car at 3700 West Marquette.
According to police, the victim got out of the vehicle when the perpetrator fired one shot in her direction.
The victim was taken to Christ Hospital with one gunshot wound to the abdomen in stable condition.
No one was detained in any of the incidents.
