A 12-year-old girl was critically wounded in the neck after being shot from a vehicle

CHICAGO — A 12-year-old girl was shot in the neck in South Chicago early Sunday morning.

According to police, around 9:24 a.m., the girl was walking near the 8900 block of Sat-Chicago Avenue when a man in a dark-colored car fired shots in her direction.

She suffered a gunshot wound to the neck and was taken to Commerce Children’s Hospital in critical condition.

At the moment, no one has been arrested, and the police are investigating the incident.
