A 61-year-old man was killed in a collision with a driver in Melrose Park

CHICAGO (CBS) – A 61-year-old man from Stone Park was killed in an accident Friday morning in the western suburb of Melrose Park.

According to Melrose Park spokesman Gary Mack, witnesses told police they saw a dark SUV flee the scene after about 7 a.m. knocked down a victim at the intersection of Mannheim Road and James Place.

According to Mack, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene and she was identified as Alphonse Parra of Stone Park.

Melrose Park Police are asking the public to share any surveillance video that could have captured the incident. Police are also asking all witnesses who saw the accident to share what they saw. Anyone with information can call the Melrose Park Police Department at (708) 344-8409.
