Amazon Studios Appoints Sue Kroll as Head of Marketing – Deadline

Hi team,

I am thrilled to share the news that Sue Kroll is joining the team as Head of Marketing for Amazon Studios, effective immediately and reporting to me. Sue will oversee global marketing strategy and campaigns for series and films, both live and theatrical.

Sue has done an excellent job marketing the company Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power, our biggest premiere in Prime Video history. She is widely respected, with deep industry knowledge, extensive experience and strong relationships with talent and across the creative community. She is a seasoned professional with more than 30 years of experience selling projects ranging from blockbuster global releases to award-winning niche film and television projects.

In 2018, Sue opened her own production company, Kroll & Co. Entertainment. Under this banner, Sue is producing and developing a number of projects, both in film and television, which are now coming to Amazon Studios as priority deals.

Prior to founding Kroll & Co., Sue had extensive experience as President of Worldwide Marketing and Distribution at Warner Bros. Pictures, where she produced some of the most popular and acclaimed films in the history of cinema, including Argo, Dunkirk, Mad Max: Fury Road, Inception and all the Harry Potter movies to name a few. Sue began her career in New York City, spending seven years at various divisions of Viacom before moving to Atlanta to lead marketing at Turner Network Television. Her tenure at Turner included roles at TNT and Cartoon Network Europe, where she launched the company’s first entertainment venture outside the United States.
