A 76-year-old man fatally shot a younger man Tuesday morning when an argument turned physical in the Bridgeport neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Around 9:40 a.m., an elderly man got into an argument with a young man in the 3100 block of South May Street, and the argument turned into a fight, police said.
The elderly man, who has a FOID card, discharged the weapon, striking the younger man in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the dead man was between 45 and 50 years old.
The elderly man was taken to Jesse Brown VA Medical Center for evaluation. Police said he is in good condition.
Operatives conducted an investigation.
