OAK PARK, IL — A first-floor business in Oak Park caught fire early Friday morning, spreading throughout the building.
Oak Park police responded to a fire on the first floor of a building in the 227 block of South Boulevard around 12:23 a.m. The fire spread from the first floor through the walls to the living quarters of the second and third floors.
The three-alarm fire caused smoke and water damage to 36 units in the area, according to Oak Park police. No injuries were reported, except for the firefighter who was taken to Loyola University Medical Center and released on full duty.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
