Chatham man charged after being held at gunpoint for 13 years

CHICAGO – A Chatham man was arrested and charged Saturday after robbing a 13-year-old at gunpoint in the New City area on Friday.

Eugene Graves, 47, was arrested around 9:30 p.m. Friday in the 600 block of West Garfield Boulevard, according to the Chicago Police Department. Moments before his arrest, Graves took property from a 13-year-old boy in the 700 block of West Garfield Boulevard at gunpoint, police said.

Graves was taken into custody and charged with one count of Unlawful Use of a Weapon (UUW), Felon in Possession/Use of a Firearm.

At the moment, there is no other information.
