DALLAS (AP) – Fabio Louise will conduct the Ring Cycle at a concert with the Dallas Symphony in October 2024.

Louise, who became the musical director of the 2020-21 season, will host two performances each of “Das Rheingold” and “Die Walküre” in May 2024, followed by the addition of “Siegfried” and “Götterdämmerung (Twilight of the Gods)” in the autumn when the first two operas return for an additional performance from 13 to 20 October 2024.

Mark Delavan will sing Wotan, repeating the role he played when Louise conducted the Ring at the Metropolitan Opera in 2012 and 2013. Delavan will be joined by Liz Lindström (Brunhilda), Daniel Johansson (Siegfried), Thomas Thomason (Alberich), Sarah Jakubiak (Sieglinde) and Christopher Ventris (Sigmund).

Wagner’s four operas are considered the most demanding repertoire for the opera troupe, and the concert version of the full ring is rarely performed.
