NEW YORK (AP) is a love story in New York With Gala steps Monday with a proposal.
The engagement stopped live interviews with celebrities when guests at the Met Gala turned to see former Assembly candidate Bobby Digi Ollis get on one knee and make an offer to New York Commissioner for Culture Lori Cambo.
Turning all the cameras to the carpet, Digi Olis got on one knee. Met with Gala participants cried out in excitement and shouted to the couple “say so.” She did.
“You know, it’s always like trying to wait the right time. So when is the right time to take into account everything that is happening around the world? So I just said, “We’re going to do it today,” Digi Olis said in an interview with the Associated Press after the offer.
“You’ve been waiting for this moment almost your whole life and it’s going to be right here, that’s all I thought it was going to be,” Kamba said.

In front of the AP cameras, Kamba took off her glove from her left hand, and Digi Olisa put a wedding ring on her finger.
The night was a full circle moment for Cambo. She said she was an intern at the museum when she was 15 and came to the Met Gala.
“And now I’m coming back with my now-authorized cultural department husband,” she said.
