Need a summer job? Chicago Park District is hiring

CHICAGO — Young Chicagoans looking for summer jobs across the city can apply to the Chicago Park District.

With summer just around the corner, the Chicago Park District has launched the Your Perfect Summer Job campaign. Residents of Chicago are invited to participate in various programs that will be held from April 10 to June 9.

Vacancies include Lifeguards, Recreation Supervisors, Special Recreation Supervisors and Junior Workers. Positions are for people 16 years of age or older with a minimum starting wage of at least $15.

Chicago Park District Assistant Recreation Director Adrian Iozza joined the WGN Evening News to talk more about employment opportunities.

“We’re teaching two things: we’re giving young people the opportunity to get these jobs, work on their tan, put some money in their pockets and not work too late because they usually finish by the evening, so they don’t work the night,” Iosa said. “They also work with our young children who are our future. So it’s a win-win situation.”
