Police: Bank robbed in Joliet

JOLIET, IL. A bank was robbed in Joliet late Monday afternoon.

According to the Joliet Police Department, officers were called to the PNC Bank in the 2400 block of Route 59 for an alarm at about 4:48 p.m. When the police arrived, they learned that the bank had been robbed.

Police said the man entered the bank and handed the teller a note about the robbery. The man then fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic man, possibly 25 to 30 years old with a beard, who was last seen wearing a medical mask, glasses, a black hat, a black jacket and blue jeans.

At the moment, no one has been detained and there are no injuries as a result of the incident.

Joliet police remained on the scene until the FBI arrived and took over the investigation.
