Chicago police issued an alert Tuesday night that a man wearing bifocals and furry slippers was robbing mail carriers on the Northwest Side.
An armed suspect approaches mail carriers as they move and demands their property. The police warned about the robberies that took place on January 17 around 2:00 p.m. and on January 31 shortly before 3:00 p.m.
The first robbery happened in the 1600 block of North Sayre Avenue, and the second robbery happened in the 1700 block of North New England Avenue.
The robber was described as an African-American man, 5-foot-8 to 6-foot tall, wearing thick bifocals, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black furry slippers.
