Rockford, Illinois (WTVO) – A book for two local authors was signed in the Rockford Anderson Gardens of Japan on Sunday.
“The Garden at the Bank” was written and illustrated by Sophia Riley and Savannah Riley Gantry, two sisters who grew up in Rockford and attended Rockford Christian schools. It tells the story of a young girl’s desire for discovery, communication and research.
June, the protagonist of the book, goes to Anderson’s Japanese Gardens, 318 Spring Creek Rd., To complete an assignment in class. These are the same gardens where the signing of the book takes place.
The Riley sisters will arrange a receipt for the books from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Books will be available for purchase in the outdoor tent and in the gift shop. The signing will take place on the floating deck in the garden.
