CHICAGO — The 25th alderman plans to lead a group of vendors at Novak Construction demanding a new agreement to avoid being evicted from discount center.

Sources told WGN that there will be 70 vehicles in addition to the caravan, and it will include street vendors as well as those renting from the discount center in Little Village.

In February, some sellers were given until March 26 to leave the shopping center. Vendors Day The management of PK Mall ordered them to liquidate their merchandise after the proposed rent hike in the lease extension proposal was deemed unreasonable and unsustainable.

Novak Construction is planning the renovation, which will include new building facades and roofs, new surface parking, lighting and signage.

“Closing half of the businesses in this discount center is unacceptable,” said Ald. Byron Sigcho-Lopez said.

A caravan of 70 cars will meet at the discount mall on Thursday morning, hoping it will raise enough awareness of the problem to keep shoppers in the mall.
