Palatine, Illinois (CBS) – Teachers in the Palatine draw rice on the sand.
Teachers working in Township, 211th High School, voted overwhelmingly on Thursday to authorize a strike if there is no agreement before their contract expires on June 30.
99 percent of teachers voted for this step.
Negotiations between the teachers’ union of district 211 and the district department of education have been underway since October.
The next mediation meeting will take place in two weeks.
The district of 2011 includes Conant High School and Hoffman Estates High School in Hoffman Estates, Framd High School and Palatine High School in the Palatine and Schaumburg High School in Schaumburg.
