CHICAGO — Taste of Chicago will take place in September, the city announced Monday.

The food festival will remain in Grant Park, but will take place over the weekend of September 8-10.

The concern was raised last week as the traditional time period for Taste of Chicago, early July. This year, Grant Park will host a NASCAR street race. The race will occupy part of Grant Park for nearly six weeks due to setup, the event itself and disruption.

Grant Park is also booked from May 18 to August 13 for other events, including the Suenos Music Festival and Lollapalooza.

For the fun, officials moved Taste to September and added Taste of Chicago pop-ups this summer in three boroughs; Humboldt Park (June 24), Pullman Park (July 15) and Market Park (August 5).
