DETROIT (AP) — U.S. auto safety regulators have launched an investigation into the Tesla Model Y SUV after receiving two complaints that the handlebars could come off while driving. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the investigation covers approximately 120,000 model year 2023 vehicles. The agency says in both cases, Model Ys were delivered to customers with a missing bolt that holds the wheel to the steering column. A friction fit held the rudders in place, but when force was applied they separated. Messages were left asking Tesla for comment.
