(WAND WEATHER) – Today’s rain will bring colder weather back to Central Illinois for the final weekend of winter.
There will be showers across the plains this morning ahead of the storm. Rainfall amounts will range from a third of an inch to nearly three-quarters of an inch by Friday morning.
It turns much colder tonight, with rain taking a brief wintry turn before ending before dawn on Friday.
Although there is a chance of flurries on Friday morning, the sun breaks through the clouds in the afternoon with temperatures in the low 30s.
It will be a chilly weekend with overnight lows around 20° and wind chills in the single digits. Light snow or flurries are possible on Saturday.
On Sunday, sunny weather and a slightly higher temperature of up to 30 degrees are expected.
At the beginning of next week, it will warm up to 50 degrees again.
