Two men shot dead near playground in Humboldt Park, police say – Chicago Tribune

According to Chicago police, two men were shot dead in Humboldt Park near the playground on Monday afternoon.

About 3 p.m., the men, ages 34 and 35, were near the street in 1300 East Luis Munoz Marin Drive when two other men pulled out a gun and shot them, police said.

Police said the older man was shot in the chest and the younger in the head and chest. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

They have not yet been identified by the Cook County Forensics Service.

According to police, two guns were found at the scene. One person was taken into custody. Charges await.
