WATCH LIVE | $11 million to restore the ecosystem of the Upper Des Plaines River watershed

LIBERTYVILLE, Ill. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has a new $11 million project in Lake County.

Construction will begin soon on a “combined flood protection and ecosystem restoration project for the Upper Des Plaines River watershed,” according to a release from U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin’s office.

A news conference is scheduled for Monday in Durbin, Illinois, to discuss the project and federal funding to restore the ecosystem.
