An elderly woman is in critical condition after a hit-and-run in South Chicago

CHICAGO — Police are searching for a pickup truck after an elderly woman was struck while crossing a street in South Chicago Saturday afternoon.

According to police, the incident happened around 1:55 p.m. as she was crossing 87th Street at the Commercial Avenue crosswalk. When she was moving, the woman was hit by a dark-colored pickup truck.

Police said the woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the accident.

Police described a Ford pickup truck with a possible silver lower trim that had a ladder rack, chrome/silver running boards, Bull Bars/Radiator Grille (Heavy Metal Black Front Grille Protector) in the front of the vehicle. , also having a large
possibly a white round sticker/badge on the passenger side rear door
vehicle.
