Decatur man pleads guilty to stabbing | Main stories

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — Manolito D. Conner pleaded guilty today to stabbing a 37-year-old woman at the Oasis Day Care Center in Decatur.

On Sept. 10, Decatur officers responded to the Oasis Day Care Center in Cerro Gordo and found a 37-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds to her chest and lower body. The victim was taken by ambulance to the hospital for medical treatment.

Conner was arrested last Friday for domestic battery on a woman. He was released on bond the next day and assaulted the woman less than 48 hours later, police said.

Records show he threw a smoke bomb under the victim’s car and followed her to a daycare center where he stabbed her.

Conner pleaded guilty to a Class X felony, attempted first-degree murder. The sentencing hearing is scheduled for January 23, 2023.
