Kentucky Supreme Court Weighs Future of Abortion Access | National
FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — The Kentucky Supreme Court has heard arguments on the constitutionality of a blanket ban on abortion. Tuesday’s hearing comes a week after Kentucky voters rejected an anti-abortion measure. The case appears destined to be a watershed moment for abortion rights in Kentucky. A lawyer defending the ban urged the court “not to create a version of Kentucky Roe v. Wade.” A lawyer for those challenging the ban says voters have refused to repeal constitutional protections for abortion. The case is the first legal test since voters in Kentucky and three other states have declared their support for abortion rights in midterm elections.
