Sullivan man airlifted after crash in Coles County | Main stories

COLES COUNTY, Ill. (WAND) – A Sullivan man has been airlifted after a serious crash in Coles County.

The crash happened on the 1000N Interstate 57 overpass Saturday just after 7 p.m

The Coles County Sheriff’s Department said Tristen Fugate, 26, was driving an eastbound vehicle on the 1-57 overpass at 1000N Road.

Fugate lost control and went off the road to the right, striking a guardrail and a sign, they said. The vehicle rolled and came to rest near exit 1-57.

Fugate was treated by paramedics at the scene and transported by Air Evac to Carle Foundation Hospital.

The accident is under investigation.
