Suspect in Colorado LGBTQ club shooting to stand trial | National
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — The alleged shooter facing possible hate crime charges in the fatal shooting of five people at a Colorado Springs LGBT nightclub is scheduled to make his first court appearance Wednesday from prison after as he was released from the hospital the day before. Anderson Lee Aldrich was beaten into submission by visitors during a shooting Saturday night. Aldrich was scheduled to appear at the hearing via video from jail. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation, but authorities said Aldrich faces murder and hate crime charges. Aldrich’s attorneys said in court documents that the suspect is non-binary, but attorneys did not elaborate.
