1 dead in shooting and car crash in Joliet
JOLIET, IL. A man was pronounced dead after police received a report of shots fired in Joliet Sunday afternoon.
Officers were called to the intersection of Columbia Street and Henderson Avenue around 12:20 p.m., where they found an SUV crashed on its side with a 27-year-old man unresponsive, police said.
The man died on the spot.
After detectives searched the area, they found numerous shell casings and gunshot damage to nearby homes. The motive and events leading up to the shooting are still unclear.
