Five teenagers, including a 15-year-old boy, were injured in an overnight shooting on the Near West Side, Chicago police said.
Shortly before 12:15 a.m., a group of teenagers were walking in the 2000 block of West Monroe Street when someone in a vehicle opened fire, striking the teenagers near the United Center, police said.
The 15-year-old was injured in the left leg and was taken to Lurie Children’s Hospital in good condition. An 18-year-old boy was wounded in his left hand, another 18-year-old boy was wounded in his right leg. Both of those victims were taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition. A 16-year-old boy was shot in the right arm and was also taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, along with another 16-year-old boy who was shot in the right leg.
No one was in custody for the attack and Belmont detectives were investigating.
