Florence Pugh has opened up about bosses trying to change her ‘weight’ and ‘look’ early in her career – Deadline

Florence Pugh talks about her early days as an aspiring actor in Hollywood. The Don’t worry dear star said that after the TV pilot made her a pop star, her bosses wanted to make changes to her appearance.

“Everything they tried to change about me — whether it was my weight, my looks, the shape of my face, the shape of my eyebrows — it wasn’t what I wanted to do or the industry I wanted to be in. to work,” Pugh said in an interview Telegraph. “I thought the movie business would be like this [my experience of making] The fallbut really that was the top of the game and I felt like I made a big mistake.”

The pilot was not picked up and she felt her career was over, but when she returned to England she auditioned for Lady Macbeth which made her “fall in love with cinema all over again”.

“The kind of theater that was a space where you could be confident and loud, and I stuck to that,” she added. “I think it’s too easy for people in this industry to push you left and right. And I was lucky to find out at the age of 19 what kind of performer I want to be,” she said.”
