Former Chicago Bulls player Ben Gordon charged after allegedly punching security guards during riot – Chicago Tribune

A former Chicago Bulls player was arrested early Friday morning for allegedly punching a security guard in the face and throwing another to the ground as they tried to escort him out of a McDonald’s, officials said.

Ben Gordon, 39, was charged with two counts of assault causing bodily harm and physical contact.

Shortly before 3:30 a.m., officers responded to the 600 block of North Clark Street for a call of a disturbance at a business, police said. The man was being taken out of the business when he punched a 29-year-old man in the face and knocked him to the ground. He also pushed another 21-year-old man to the ground, police said.

Both men refused medical help.

Gordon was arrested a few weeks ago arrested at LaGuardia Airport on Monday when he allegedly hit his child, sources said.

Gordon also spoke about his struggles with mental illness in the report.

Police said Gordon was taken into custody at the scene.
