Maya Rudolph “had no time” during her first appearance with David Letterman – Deadline

Maya Rudolph recalls his first appearance on Late Show with David Letterman and remembers that it was not the best experience. In a new interview, Art Saturday Night Live alum says she “didn’t have a good time”.

“He got my name wrong, and I just sat there like I’ve been in love with you all my life,” she said. WSJ. Magazine. “And now my heart is broken. And I sit here embarrassed and humiliated. I didn’t know how to handle it. I didn’t know how to come up with something funny. My public muscle wasn’t strong yet.”

However, Rudolph recalls that she “definitely got a lot better” over time, and when she feels “uncomfortable” she tries to “be funny”.

Letterman ended up apologizing to Rudolph for mispronouncing her name, saying, “I’m sorry I mispronounced your name. I’m just a tit, there’s no excuse for it, and I apologize from the bottom of my heart.”
