Pilot killed in plane crash near Galt Airport in McHenry County, sheriff’s office says

WANDER LAKE, Ill. — The pilot was killed in a single-plane crash Friday night in McHenry Countyaccording to the sheriff’s office.

The pilot of the EA-300LC crashed about 5:15 p.m. in a wooded area about half a mile from Galt Airport, according to the National Transportation Safety Board.

The pilot, who was the only person on board, died in the crash, the sheriff’s office said.

The NTSB said investigators will arrive at the crash site Saturday to begin an investigation.
