Two girls were hit by a pickup truck on the northwest side, police said

CHICAGO — Two children were injured after being struck by a pickup truck on the Northwest Side Wednesday.

According to police, the incident happened around 4 p.m. at the intersection of W. Dickens Avenue and N. Tripp Avenue in Hermosa.

Police say a 2-year-old and a 12-year-old girl were crossing the road when they were hit by a pickup truck. Both arrived at Stroger Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The police say that the 43-year-old driver was charged with failure to yield to pedestrians.
