WATCH: Q Club fatal shooting press conference
(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) will hold a press conference at 8 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, following the fatal shooting at the Q Club off North Academy Boulevard in Colorado Springs.
FOX21 News will be streaming the press conference live in the video player above. CSPD will also be broadcasting live Facebook page.
Colorado Springs Mayor John Suthers and 4th Judicial District Attorney Michael Allen announced that both will attend and speak at the press conference along with police.
According to CSPD Lt. Pamela Castro, the shooting happened late Saturday night, Nov. 19, at the Q Club, with the first call coming in shortly before midnight Sunday.
While the investigation is in its early stages, police said 18 people have been injured so far and five others have died. Several people were taken to the hospital.
CSPD appears to have located one person they believe to be the suspect and he is currently in the hospital. Police said the FBI is also on the scene assisting with the investigation.
A spokesman for the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) said 34 firefighters and 11 ambulances were called; some of them had to transport two victims at once, sometimes three. CSFD thanked AMR and the many county agencies for their assistance.
Police are asking anyone with a cell phone or dash cam to contact CSPD at (719) 444-7000. Police are also asking that any additional witnesses who were not interviewed by an officer also contact CSPD.
