1 dead in crash involving semi in Dolton

DOLTON, Ill. — One person was killed in a high-speed crash involving a semi-truck in south suburban Dolton Wednesday morning.

The crash happened on Sibley Boulevard near Wentworth. Police said the driver of the vehicle, believed to be speeding, hit another vehicle before careening off and hitting an oncoming semi truck.

According to police, the driver’s car caught fire and they died on the spot.

No other injuries have been reported at this time.

The accident is under investigation.
