ISP releases more information on fatal I-55 crash | Main stories
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — Illinois State Police have released more details about Tuesday’s fatal crash on I-55.
Four vehicles were involved in the crash, which occurred on the southbound lanes of I-55 near pole 89. A truck struck two cars and overturned. Immediately after the impact, a tractor with a trailer drove by the accident site and was damaged.
Two drivers and a passenger were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. one driver a woman from North Carolinawas pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash is still under investigation by the ISP, and charges are pending.
