Liam Hemsworth to Replace Henry Cavill in ‘The Witcher’ Season 4 After Netflix Early Renewal – Deadline

Netflix updated The sorcerer for a fourth season with a twist.

Liam Hemsworth will replace Henry Cavill in the epic drama series as Geralt of Rivia.

The move comes ahead of the series’ third season, which will return in summer 2023. The four-part prequel, The Witcher: Origin of Blood launches on December 25, 2022.

Cavill, who revealed earlier this week that he will return as Superman, played the brooding Geralt of Rivia, the doom of supernatural beasts in the first three seasons of the drama series.

The sorcerer is the story of the intertwined destinies of three individuals in the vast world of the Continent, where humans, elves, witches, dwarves and monsters fight for survival and prosperity, and where good and evil are not so easily distinguished.

It also stars Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan.

Hemsworth, who is best known for his starring role in The hunger games franchise, recently starred in the drama Quibi The most dangerous game. He will take over as Geralt of Rivia.

Lauren Schmidt Hisrich is the showrunner and executive producer. Tomek Baginski, Jason F. Brown, Sean Daniel, Mike Ostrowski, Steve Gaub and Jaroslav Sawko also serve as producers.

Cavill said: “My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventure, and sadly I will be putting away my medallion and my swords for Season 4. In my place, the fantastic Mr. Liam Hemsworth will take up the mantle of the White Wolf. As with the greatest literary characters, I pass the torch with deep respect for the time spent fleshing out Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam’s take on this most fascinating and complex man. Liam, good sir, this character has such wonderful depth, enjoy diving in and seeing what you can find.’

Hemsworth added: “As a The sorcerer fan I’m excited to play Geralt of Rivia.
