Man fatally shot in armpit while driving in West Loop crashes into bus stop
CHICAGO — A man was fatally shot in the armpit while he was driving near the West Loop Sunday night.
A 49-year-old man was driving westbound in the 1900 block of West Fulton Street around 10:47 p.m., when unknown persons in two different vehicles began shooting at him and fled, police said.
Police said he suffered a gunshot wound to his left armpit and crashed into a bus stop.
The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
No one has been arrested, and the police are investigating the incident.
