Skechers’ ‘SNL’ ad spoofs Kanye West’s visit to company offices – deadline

A day after Adidas ended its business relationship with Kanye West following his repeated anti-Semitic comments, the rapper made an “unannounced” visitt to the Skechers corporate office in Los Angeles on Wednesday and was escorted out of the building.

The incident was parodied in a Saturday Night Live Advertisement skechers.

“Here at Skechers, we pride ourselves on two things: making stylish, comfortable shoes at an affordable price and zero tolerance for anti-Semitism,” said Skechers spokesperson Cecily Strong.

Another employee, played by Bowen Yang, added: “That’s why Kanye West showed up at our company office earlier this week asking to work with us. We said no and immediately escorted him out of the building.”

Noting that Skechers is appalled by West’s “appalling comments” and vows never to work with him, Strong’s executive added, “But we also want to point out that of all the companies he could have applied to and been turned down, he chose Skechers.”

A representative for Young said: “Two years ago, you can imagine the headline ‘Skechers too good for Kanye?'” later adding: “What would you even call Kanye’s Skechers shoes, Skizzy?”

The Skechers team tried other shoe companies.

“It took Adidas so many days to decide not to work with him. He walked in, we were, buy, bye, door,” Strong’s character said, while Ian asked why Crocs was silent on West’s comments.

He then concluded, “I’m sure Kanye will find a morally questionable company to work with,” with the Michael J. Lindell (James Austin Johnson) announcing the My Pillow collaboration with West.

We will update the video post of the skit as soon as it becomes available.
