Weekend Update Calls Out Kanye West Companies That Were Not Associated With The Rapper – Deadline

Colin Jost and Michael Che are back again to fake the news Saturday Night Live‘s “Weekend Update” and Kanye West were at the center of the jokes. After many companies have cut ties with the rapper following his anti-Semitic remarksJost noted that there are some companies that were not required to make public statements.

“Is it just me or do half the companies that ditch Kanye sound fake?” Yost asked. “I saw the headline, ‘TJ Maxx Cuts Yeezy Brands Amid Kanye West Dropout.’ I was wondering if Kanye knew he worked at TJ Maxx?”

Jost continued, “Also, if we’re no longer linking you to Kanye, you didn’t have to announce that you were ending the relationship. We didn’t need Peloton to announce, “We don’t play Kanye’s music anymore.” Thanks Peloton, now we can rest easy knowing we won’t be hearing ‘Gold Digger’ while we’re having a heart attack on your bike.”

As West’s fallout continued all week, Jost said he began to wonder what other companies would distance themselves from Kim Kardashian’s ex.

“Dippin’ Dots will no longer work with … Scrub Daddy is cutting all ties … TCBY will be discontinuing their ‘cone watch menu’ featuring the popular pretzel nougat flavor,” Jost joked.

One of the more surprising announcements, and it was real, was Goodwill’s announcement that they would no longer accept donations of Yeezy merchandise.

“Which is weird because Kanye lost so much money that he might need it,” Jost quipped.
