5 people found dead in Buffalo Grove home, officials say

Five people were found dead Wednesday in a home in Buffalo Grove, suburban village officials said.

Police were dispatched to the single-family residence at 11:12 a.m. to do a well-being check on the woman, and after being unable to make contact with her, went inside. Officers found five bodies inside the home, according to a press release shared on Buffalo Grove’s Facebook page.

Early police investigations indicate the death was the result of a “domestic incident,” the release said. The death occurred in the 2800 block of Acacia Terrace, the report added.

Buffalo Grove officials asked community members to avoid the area in another news release issued earlier Wednesday by village spokeswoman Molly Gillespie. Gillespie cited “intense police activity” at the scene where the victims were found, but said there was “no threat to the public” at the time.

Officials again said there was no threat to the public in their news release Wednesday night.

The Lake County Major Crimes Task Force is assisting Buffalo Grove police in the death investigation.

The names of the five people who died are being withheld pending an investigative review and family members have been notified, the release said. The Lake County Medical Examiner’s Office did not immediately respond to a request for comment Wednesday night.
