A boil order is in effect for Jacksonville, Illinois | Main stories
LITCHFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — A boil water order for customers in the City of Jacksonville is in effect until further notice.
The following areas are under notification:
- North side of Morton Avenue to West Lafayette Avenue between South Westgate and Rt. 104.
- South Westgate to South Grand between Mound Road and West Lafayette
The Morgan County Office of Emergency Management said the boil order was “due to the massive work to deal with the latest water main break.”
Water pressure has been restored, but the county has asked customers to conserve water to allow the system to recover. The district recommended the following actions.
Inadmissible actions:
- Washing cars, decks, houses, sidewalks, garages or any other outside structures
- Adding or filling a hot tub
Allowed actions:
- Shower rooms
- Restroom services
- Drinking water
- Laundry
