Daniel Radcliffe hits back at rumors he’s the next Wolverine in X-Men movies – Deadline
Daniel Radcliffe did a lot of work to live the days as a hero in Harry Potter film franchise. Although rumors pointed to his success Hugh Jackman as the following Wolverine in X-Men film franchises, the English actor debunks all these claims.
“These are purely press tour rumors; I say something and then every now and then I get bored of responding that way, so I say something else and it sets the mood again. I just never have to open my mouth,” he said recently GQ in an interview.
Being able to identify with a role is something that Radcliffe knows can be hard to pull off, which is why he says he “never wants to lock himself into something that I’m not sure I’ll be able to love the same way all the time.”
Earlier this year and while appearing on The viewco-host Ana Navarro asked Radcliffe about rumors that he would play Wolverine next, which he denied.
“It’s something that comes up every now and then, I think, because Wolverine is short in the comics, so every now and then they ask, ‘Who’s the short actor?’ There was never any truth to that,” he said on the ABC talk show. “Often I get bored of answering questions intelligently, so I just joke like yesterday and it reignited the rumors about it, but nothing happens.”
The only thing that can be said for sure is that for now, Wolverine will continue to be played by Jackman. In September of this year, Jackman confirmed that he would reprises his role as Wolverine for Deadpool 3 which is expected to be released on November 8, 2024.
