CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — Champaign firefighters were on the scene of a vacant apartment fire this afternoon.
Smoke was coming from a second-floor apartment window in the 14-unit building, located at 1101 S Mattis. The CFD release said a passerby called in the report.
None of the firefighters were injured. The cause of the fire has not been established, investigators remained on the scene to conduct the investigation.
According to a Champaign fire official Twitter post fire was, “extinguish quickly and professionally.“
